The music captures the each setting perfectly. I love the new music for Bravely Default II.

I found that once I was over-leveled, the enemies would run and hide from me.Īlthough the new battle system did disappoint me, I can’t say the same about the music. I do like having purely random encounters and especially if the enemies will aggressively chase you down for being under-leveled in an area. Also, I hope that chain battles do get implemented in the game because that helped a lot when I had to grind for experience and job points.įor visible enemy units, I’m not a fan of every game implementing them. It was a lifesaver in the previous titles. Additionally, I wished that there was a way to save the commands given to the characters instead of only being able to repeat the previous turn. I understand that the team wanted to implement that from Octopath Traveler (developed by the same team), but I feel that it does not work for Bravely Default II and I found it annoying. Then when a character would brave, they would say various battle quotes. Speaking of battles, I wished that there was a button linked to Default like how there is one linked to Brave. If there was a small display somewhere to determine turn order, then I feel that it would help the battle. I had no sense as to when my characters would be able to move and there would be times that either my enemies or my character would move twice in one round. Unfortunately, I felt that this departure made the uncertainty of battles worse. I know that in previous titles, it could be difficult trying to decide which commands to give each character because there were so many uncertainties regarding which character and/or enemies would move first.īy departing from the predecessor’s battle system, it would eliminate the uncertainty. In Bravely Default II, the combat is no longer based by rounds and it is now turn-based and extremely arbitrary. By making it round-based, I could easily input the commands and watch as the battle played out.

What made the Bravely series special to me was that combat was round-based instead of turn-based. Unfortunately, once I played the demo, I was left disappointed. I love the music in Bravely Default more than Bravely Second so I have no complaints. A new title in the Bravely series coming to the Switch and there will be a demo?! Not only that, but Revo is back as the composer? I’m in. If you haven’t had the chance to play the original Bravely Default, you might want to go back and do that just so you can get a feel for how the game system works. Then Bravely Default II was announced and I couldn’t be any happier. Until then, you have the new Bravely Default II Final Demo to hold you over. Before we know it, 26 February will be here and we’ll be stuck in yet another JRPG world helping us escape from the real-world. It really seems like yesterday that the initial demo dropped and took us by surprise. Honestly, I’m kind of surprised that the game is coming as soon as it is.

Also, as an added bonus: Nintendo is giving everyone who downloads the demo before the release date of the game 100 free Platinum Points for the MyNintendo website.

The demo that was released today runs about 3.2GB and replaces the old demo that was available on the Nintendo eShop.

The #BravelyDefault II Final Demo is here to give you a taste of the vivid art, strategic battle system, and memorable music of the game's first main chapter. The experience here is a lot different from the initial demo that dropped almost a year ago, and as Nintendo mentioned in their announcement tweet, the Final Demo covers a good portion of the first chapter of the game. With the game being released in a little over two months, this kind of makes sense because it will give players a more realistic experience and an idea of what to expect when the retail game drops on 26 February 2021. In a move out of left field, Square Enix has released a new demo for Bravely Default II on the Nintendo eShop titled Bravely Default II Final Demo.
